Lloyd
400
1953-1957
In 1953, the Lloyd 400 was launched as the successor to the 300. It was a small car with a two-cylinder 386 cc engine that reached a top speed of 75 kilometers per hour. Because steel was a scarce and expensive commodity in post-war Germany, the Lloyd 400 initially had a wood body covered with synthetic leather. The 400 was available as a sedan (LP 400), station wagon (LS 400), and van (LK 400), and from August 1955, also as a convertible (LC 400).
