Fiat
500 (Topolino)
1936-1955
In 1936 the Fiat 500 - nickname Topolino - was launched. It was a small car, equipped with a 569 cc four-cylinder, water-cooled engine mounted in front of the front axle. It was offered as a two-door saloon, two-door convertible saloon with folding roof and a two-door van. In 1948, model B was introduced with a slightly more powerful engine. The range now included a three-door estate under the name 500 B Giardiniera, with an outside ash frame being used instead of steel.
In 1949, the 500 C entered the market with a restyled body. In 1952, the Giardiniera was renamed Belvedere, while its wooden frame was replaced by steel. The Topolino was discontinued in 1955 with the arrival of the new Fiat 600.
