The Fiat 132 was introduced in 1972 as the successor to the Fiat 125, positioned as a mid-size executive saloon in the brand’s lineup. It featured rear-wheel drive and was offered with a range of twin-cam engines. In 1974, the 132 received its first facelift. The most notable change was the addition of a Hofmeister kink in the C-pillar, a design element that drew comparisons to the BMW 5 Series. Another update followed in 1977, this time with the introduction of plastic bumpers and other minor exterior revisions, helping the car keep pace with contemporary styling trends. Though never a major contender in the premium segment, the 132 offered good value for money and remained in production until the early 1980s, when it was replaced by the Fiat Argenta.
