Fiat

131

1974-1984

The Fiat 131 was unveiled in October 1974 at the Salone dell’Automobile di Torino as the successor to the popular Fiat 124. It was also known as the Mirafiori, named after the Turin suburb where the car was produced. Designed as a practical and affordable family saloon, the 131 featured a conventional rear-wheel-drive layout and a range of four-cylinder engines. The 131 became a key model for Fiat throughout the late 1970s and early 1980s, offering versions from basic economy trims to twin-cam variants with more performance. It also found success internationally and was produced under licence in several countries: as the Seat 131 in Spain, the Polski Fiat 131p in Poland, and the Murat 131 in Turkey.
