Datsun

The Cedric was introduced in March 1960. It was the first car labeled as a Nissan, but it shared mechanicals with Datsun cars from the time. The Cedric replaced the Austin A50 Nissan was building under license from the Austin Motor Company, which was called the Nissan Austin. 

In 1965 the second generation Cedric was introduced with bodywork by Pininfarina. Shortly after the merger of the Nissan Motor Company with the Prince Motor Company in August 1966, the Cedric was sold in various export markets as the Datsun 2000. It was available as a four-door sedan or a five-door station wagon with either a four-cylinder 1,983 cc engine or a six-cylinder 1,973 cc engine. 

The third generation Cedric was introduced in 1971 and was sold in Europe under the name Datsun 200C, 220C, 240C or 260C. It was offered as a four-door sedan or wagon and a two-door coupé. In August 1972, a four-door hardtop sedan, with no B-pillar between the front and rear passenger side windows, was added to the options list. This generation introduced a new appearance, called "coke bottle", which began to appear during the late 1960s. In 1972 the 2,393 cc engine was replaced with a 2,565 cc version to conform to new emission regulations.

In 1975 the car received an update. Most striking are the new grille and bumpers. The engines were further modified as emission control regulations were adjusted in 1976. This generation was offered as a sedan, wagon/van, coupé and a rare pillarless hardtop sedan.
