Autobianchi
Bianchina
1957-1969
In January 1955 the Autobianchi company was created as a joint venture by Pirelli, bicycle manufacturer Bianchi and Fiat. In September 1957 the company presented its first model at the Museo Nazionale Scienza e Tecnologia in Milan: the Bianchina. It basically was a luxury version of the Fiat 500 with an elegant body designed by Fiat's design director Fabio Luigi Rapi. Initially, only a two-door landaulet (Trasformabile) was availble. In 1960 a two-door convertible and three-door stationcar (Panoramica) were introduced, in 1962 followed by a four-door saloon (Quattroposti). That same year the Trasformabile was discontinued.
