Prinz 1000, 1000
1963-1972
At the 1963 Internationale Automobil Ausstellung in Frankfurt the Prinz 1000 was introduced. It was the bigger and stronger brother of the Prinz 4, gaining 32 centimeters in length and fitted with an air-cooled, four-cylinder 996cc engine. In 1965, the sportier 1000 TT was introduced, with a 1,085cc engine. In January 1967 the name Prinz was abandoned and the car was named simply NSU 1000. Production ended in December 1972 after almost 200,000 cars had been built.
