1959-1968
The Fiat 1800 and 2100 were introduced as a four-door sedan at the 1959 Geneva Salon. Fiat's in-house designer Dante Giacosa was responsible for the modern, attractive design. The 1800 had a six-cylinder 1,795 cc engine, the 2100 was fitted with a six-cylinder engine of 2,054 cc. A few months later, the five-door Familiare was added to the lineup. In autumn 1959, the 2100 Speciale was introduced with a lengthened wheelbase and different front grille.

the 2100 was built from 1959-1961
The 2100 was already discontinued in May 1961, when the Fiat 2300 became available. The 1800 was succeeded by the 1800 B, with a higher output from the existing engine. The 2300 was also available as a coupé and 2300 S coupé - the latter fitted with a more powerful engine with double twin-choke carburettors, tuned by Abarth. A production version was presented in 1961 and went on sale in 1962. In 1963 Fiat used the body of the Fiat 1800/2100 to create a new, less expensive model, the Fiat 1500L. To distinguish it from the 1300/1500, it used the designation 1500L (for Lunga). The car shared its more compact sibling's four-cylinder 1,481 cc engine.
