Dyane
1967-1983
The Citroën Dyane was launched in August 1967. It was a development of the 2CV and was intended as an answer to the increasingly popular Renault 4, which after its introduction in 1961 had affected 2CV sales. For the first five months only the 2CV's air-cooled 425 cc engine was fitted. At the Brussels Motor Show in January 1968 the Citroën Dyane 6 was presented, with the Ami's 602 cc engine under the bonnet. Two months later, the 425 cc engine of the base model was replaced with a slightly bigger 435 cc engine. In 1977 a panel van version, the Acadiane was introduced. In total almost 1.5 million Dyane's had been produced.
