DKW

F102

1963-1966

The DKW F102 was unveiled in August 1963 and became available from March 1964. It was the last model to be produced under the DKW name. Although modern in design, the F102 retained DKW’s traditional two-stroke engine, which by the mid-1960s had fallen out of favour with European buyers seeking smoother and more efficient four-stroke alternatives. This reliance on two-stroke technology ultimately led to the model’s commercial failure. Its successor, the F103, was launched under a revived Audi brand and featured a modern four-stroke engine, marking the beginning of a new era for Auto Union under Volkswagen ownership.
