BMW

CS-series (E9)

1968-1975

In 1968 the new six-cylinder BMW 2800 CS replaced the four-cylinder 2000 C and CS coupés. The wheelbase and body were enlarged to accomodate the larger engine and the front of the car was restyled to resemble the six-cylinder sedans. The 2800 CS was replaced by the 3.0 CS and 3.0 CSi in 1971. The engine was bored out to give a displacement of 2,986 cc with the CSi having electronic fuel injection.
