BMW

7-series (E23)

1977-1986

In 1977 the BMW 7-series was launched as a replacement for the six-cylinder models of the Neue Klasse saloons. The E23 was a luxury four-door sedan, fitted with a six-cylinder engine. Many electronic features were introduced for the first time in a BMW, including an on-board computer and complex climate control systems. 285,000 units of the E23 were produced until 1986, when it was succeeded by the E32 7-series.
