BMW

6-series (E24)

1976-present

The E24 is the first generation of the BMW 6-series range, which was produced from January 1976 to 1989 and replaced the BMW E9 coupé. It was produced solely in a two-door coupé body style, all fitted with straight six-cylinder engines. Originally the bodies were manufactured by Karmann, but in 1977 production was shifted to the BMW factories in Dingolfing. Production of the E24 ended in 1989 and after a 15-year hiatus, the E63 6-series was introduced in 2004.
