Welcome to my website which showcases my collection of car brochures. In principle, I collect all passenger car brochures from the period 1945-1980, but the focus of the collection lies with the West-European brands. I prefer Dutch brochures, otherwise brochures in the language of the country of origin. So German BMW brochures, but preferably no French Fiat brochures. For brochures of American cars, items from the USA are preferred to Dutch ones.

Approach

The description of the brochures follows the following pattern:

* First line - brand and type

* Second line - item type, number of pages, language

* Third line - date of issue: often that is month and year, sometimes just the year. If the year of issue is not stated anywhere on the item, but can be deduced from indications in the item, it is noted as c1969 - circa 1969.

A more detailed explanation of "item type" is given below. If the number of pages says 24+4, it means that there is a separate 4 page appendix.

item type description
brochure item with multipe pages held together with staples, sometimes glued
ring binder brochure item with multipe pages held together with a ring binder
folded brochure a factory folded brochure
folder item that has been folded once or more
sheet a single sheet of paper, unfolded and usually printed on both sides

Dating

I pay extra attention to the dating of the brochures. Sometimes it is very simple and the date is printed on the back of the brochure, whether or not incorporated in a unique brochure code. Sometimes it is less clear. In principle, the date stated is the date of issue of the brochure and that is not necessarily the same as the model year. The Model range brochures are an exception, which are arranged by model year. If a month and year of issue are not known, only the year is stated. If that year is not explicitly stated on the brochure, it will be displayed as, for example, c1964 (circa 1964).

This website is still under development and will be supplemented and adjusted in the near future. So come back every now and then to take a look! I am also very curious about what you think of it, you can leave a comment below. Note: your e-mail address will not be visible on the website.
